Villeroy & Boch’s Artis collection’s 4 new colours for restorative sanctuaries

Villeroy & Boch’s Artis collection expands with four evocative new colours by designer Gesa Hansen, transforming the bathroom into a sanctuary of calm and character.

Earthy, dark shades are one of the key interior trends for 2025. “They create a sense of security,” explains designer Gesa Hansen, who has developed the new Artis colour concept for Villeroy & Boch. The collection introduces four new full-surface matt shades – Pure Black, Almond, Nightfall, and Teal – reflecting the shift towards powerful mid-tones while adding an expressive, contemporary character of their own.

Creating Peaceful Retreats

“In an increasingly hectic, uprooted world, we yearn for peaceful havens,” says Hansen. “The depth effect of shadows and darkness creates a kind of shelter from the stimulation of the outside world.” With Nightfall, a deep midnight blue, and Pure Black, a calming deep black, she addresses this desire for security. These shades are balanced by beams of light: Almond, a soft, warm beige, and Teal, a vibrant blue-green, designed to bring contrast and lift to the palette.

Even More Colour Intensity

The new shades don’t just extend the Artis collection’s spectrum – they amplify it. For the first time, the surface-mounted washbasins are available in single-colour versions, creating even greater visual depth and serenity. Crafted from Villeroy & Boch’s high-quality TitanCeram, they combine delicate thin walls with exceptional stability. Artis comes in four shapes – round, oval, square, and rectangular – pairing seamlessly with furniture from collections such as Finion and Antao. For smaller spaces, Artis Guest offers compact round and oval basins that make even guest bathrooms feel sensational.
