Zucchetti stands as one of Italy’s most enduring names in bathroom design, known for its mastery of form, technology, and innovation. A leader in the bathroom sector, the company by Alfredo Zucchetti has been specialising in taps and shower systems since 1929. Liz Yang, General Manager of Zucchetti Asia, shares how the brand continues to set the tone for contemporary bathroom design while staying rooted in its origins.
At Zucchetti, collaborations with leading design studios are approached with great care. “Developing a new collection requires not only creativity, but also a deep synergy between the designer and our in-house technical team. Collaboration must be close and fluid, ensuring mutual understanding at every stage. We respect the designer’s initial vision while also pushing the boundaries of technical feasibility, as we did with the pioneering ISY collection in the early 2000s,” says Yang.
The brand’s ethos is encapsulated in what it calls a “culture of design.” As Yang explains, “In our partners, we look for vision, elegance, and the courage to anticipate trends rather than follow them. Each designer brings their own distinct world into dialogue with ours, opening Zucchetti to a variety of styles and perspectives. This constant exchange generates collections able to interpret contemporaneity and set new trends.”
Balancing legacy with innovation has been central to Zucchetti’s longevity. “With nearly a century of history, Zucchetti has built a strong foundation of manufacturing know-how and design mastery. This allows us to dedicate significant resources to research and innovation, exploring new forms, technologies, and materials without losing touch with our heritage,” Yang notes. Recent re-editions such as Pan S and Isy22 exemplify this approach, revisiting iconic collections with fresh technical and stylistic evolutions that keep them relevant today.
“These relaunches were made possible by maintaining strong relationships with the original designers. At the same time, our research never stops, we draw inspiration from a wide range of cultural and design contexts, often far beyond the bathroom space,” she adds.
Heritage often sparks new ideas, playing a key role as both inspiration and responsibility. Yang shares. “Take the Veloce collection, which draws from the vintage automotive world. Zucchetti had never before offered a collection with this specific allure, and after research together with Yabu Pushelberg, we found a natural parallel between the elegant details of classic cars and faucet design. Handles, spouts, and levers recall distinctive automotive elements, reinterpreted with precision and refinement. This process shows how heritage, whether our own or cultural at large, guides us in creating something new: not a copy of the past, but a transformation of its spirit into contemporary design language.”
Equally integral to Zucchetti’s vision is sustainability which is integral to the company’s development process and part of its DNA. “Since its foundation, the company has enhanced the value of water by designing its paths with care and mastery, combining flawless design, technological know-how, and a deep respect for resources,” says Yang.
She highlights tangible measures: “For years, Zucchetti has been producing its collections using low-lead brass, drastically reducing lead content. Our mixers are designed with a flow rate limited to 6 litres per minute, ensuring significant water and energy savings without compromising performance. Our newest shower collections, Bar59 and Ellissea, are crafted in stainless steel, a noble, durable, and environmentally friendly material free from toxic elements.”
Sustainability extends beyond products into manufacturing. Production handled by highly skilled staff in Italy using rigorously selected raw materials and technologically advanced machinery to guarantee the highest quality standards. “Water used in production is constantly monitored, purified, and recycled, while energy consumption is reduced through certified green power, in compliance with ISO EN 14064. In addition, Zucchetti has achieved UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification, reflecting our commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility. By combining innovation, durability, and ecological awareness, Zucchetti ensures that design excellence and environmental responsibility always go hand in hand,” she adds.

As for emerging bathroom trends, Yang says, “We see the shower space as an increasingly central area of innovation, where technology and design can merge to create immersive, wellness-oriented experiences. Our Bar59 collection is just a first step in this direction,” she says.
“At the same time, we are investing in new materials such as stainless steel, which combines durability, sustainability, and a contemporary aesthetic. We are also closely following the evolution of finishes, which play an increasingly important role in personalisation and design expression,” she adds.

The future pipeline is already in motion. “We are working on our product pipeline for 2026 and 2027. New collaborations with designers are on the horizon, with the goal of responding to the evolving needs of our clients and further expanding the stylistic breadth of our portfolio,” Yang shares.
As for the next decade, Zucchetti’s direction remains clear. “Zucchetti will continue to strengthen its positioning in the high-end segment, with a vision of luxury that is sophisticated, elegant, and timeless, never excessive or overdesigned. At the same time, we remain attentive to new technological innovations, with the aim not only to keep pace with change but to anticipate it. Our identity will therefore evolve along two intertwined paths: preserving the excellence of Made in Italy craftsmanship and design, while embracing innovation to meet the demands of tomorrow,” Yang concludes.
In Singapore, Zucchetti is distributed by Hafary.
